Sweet Fruity Pizza with Festive Sugar & Spice

Sweet Fruity Pizza with Festive Sugar & Spice

Serves 3-4, Vegetarian

This is a must for a weekend afternoon tea or simple dessert for the hungry tribe. Quick & so delicious and flexible with whatever fruit, jam and sugar you have on hand.

Ingredients

  • Pre-made pizza dough (I use Baker’s Delight twin packs)
  • Butter, for spreading
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam or a berry jam of your choice
  • 1 peach or another stone fruit or stone fruit of your choice, cut into slices
  • 2 tbsp verjuice
  • Good quality maple syrup, for drizzling
  • Greek yoghurt or mascarpone, to serve
  • 2-3 tbsp of Umami Larder Festive Sugar & Spice
A pizza going into a pizza oven.

Method

Preheat the oven to 220 C.

Line an oven dish and put the sliced peach in a single layer, splash over the verjuice and sprinkle the Umami Larder Festive Sugar & Spice over the peach slices. Into the oven for 10-12 minutes.

While the peaches are roasting, get the pizza base buttered as you would a piece of toast and on to a pizza stone or baking tray. Place into the oven for 8 minutes or until the base begins to turn golden.

Coordinate the timing so both peaches and pizza base come out of the oven at the same time. Leave the oven on but reduce the temperature to 200C.

A pizza being cut

Warm the apricot jam in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to make it more spreadable. Using a pastry brush, brush jam onto the pizza base.

Place sliced peaches on to the base, drizzle with maple syrup (don’t be too heavy handed) and return to the oven for 2-3 minutes.

Sprinkle generously with Umami Larder Festive Sugar & Spice. Slice and serve with a splash more maple syrup and a big dollop of greek yoghurt or mascarpone, topped with more dukkah if you must!

Bon appétit
