Dukkah, derived from the Arabic word for to crush, is a traditional Egyptian condiment made of ground nuts, seeds, spices, and herbs that is used as a dip or topping. Our dukkah, full of Eastern promise, is an irresistible combination of walnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, herbs and spices, flaky sea salt, black pepper, aleppo chilli flakes, and toasted sesame seeds. With fragrant notes of toasty piquant and warming spices, this blend will add sizzle to salads and roast vegetables, and is an indispensable ingredient with hummus, dips and crusty bread with good quality olive oil.
How to Use:
- Pair with a quality extra virgin olive oil, balsamic glaze, and fresh baked bread.
- Sprinkle over salads and soups.
- Incorporate in a fish pie topping.
- Dust over rainbow lettuce cups for an extra crunch.
- Add to breadcrumbs, panko crumbs, or quinoa flakes for crumbing fish and chicken.
- Pairs beautifully with scrambled eggs in the morning.
- Sprinkle over a pizza for a flavour burst—this blend will make your tomato base sing.
- Scatter over stuffed baked potatoes or a potato gratin for the ultimate comfort food.
Storage:
Once opened, transfer into an airtight container and store at ambient temperature in a dark place like a pantry or drawer. For extended longevity, this blend can also be put into the fridge (which we highly recommend).
